It's another Grad Quilt

2015 Grad is nephew Logan..

He is a dirt bike rider, but also a photographer.
My SIL secretly sent a thumb drive of these pics.

My first try with Timeless treasure photo paper..
So happy with how it turned out.

this is him

And here is the finished Quilt..

As a fabric collector(hoarder), probably the nicest part
for me is this was all done from my stash.
Not sure if that speaks good or bad about my collection.

Baby Quilts for the Quilt stash

Yes, I have a Quilt stash as well as a fabric stash.

I actually make a lot of Quilts just because..
because I like the fabric or
because I like the pattern..

They go into my stash for future gifting,
or sometimes for charities.

And a little FMQ practice.

Took a Value class from Katie Peterson..

Also played with the giant Churn Dash
from Simply Retro by Camille Roskelley.

Grad Quilt # 11 done!!

Crazy I know..
Gifted in Nov 2014

My niece actually graduated last June, not this coming June..

But the kids are used to me.

I love this Quilt, I was inspired by my love of HST and Tula Pink.
I knew I wanted a Red & White stripe, and then something in the corner.
That's when I remembered Tula Pink's Anchor Quilt.
1000+ pieces later and many months..

this was back in May 2014.

...And this was the done Quilt.

Sidelines at Large

This Quilt was pieced last year..

Sometimes when I am in the middle of intense quilting,
I get bored and just need to piece something easy.

Usually baby Quilts, but last year I decided to
use up some large print stash.

One of those fabrics I loved when I bought it,
still like it, just never found the right Quilt to make.

pattern was Sidelines by Maple Island Quilts..Debbie Bowles.
It was the perfect pattern to show off the large print.
Even did some FMQ on it.
Good pattern to practice with all the sections.

And here is the baby Quilt I made recently, trying to
work off that boredom.

The pattern is Quilt Bars from Camelot Fabrics website.
Fast, easy and so many color ways will work great with this pattern.

The Orange/Gray Quilt(s)..love love love

Maybe we need a slow poster button..

I tend to start a post, then save the draft..
OK maybe for a month or more...

I just need more pics..

Well they are finally done..
I ended up with 2 large lap Quilts and
a baby Quilt.

These have been so fun to do, Love the color combo

These were the original fabrics..but lots more were added.

My first attempt at Long-arm Quilting..
Pattern inspiration is Artichoke collection.
this one lives with my SIL now.

My inspiration for this Quilt was thelittlestthistlecraftshop.blogspot
I saw something similar, but just wanted the Orange/Gray combo..
Here is the result:

Pretty basic Quilting and of course a striped binding.

This is my favorite Quilt to date,
yes even a year after I finished it and
have made 10+ more Quilts.
And it lives with me on the love seat so I can look at it everyday!

Finishing Challenges

And I mean finishing a Challenge,
not the challenge of finishing..
but yes that could be an issue also.

This was the Michael Miller Challenge from last year.
And then..

And here is the finished Quilt.
Challenge fabric is AMH Field Study in one of 3 color ways.
Our guild had a challenge that will be displayed during
a local Arts Walk in Olympia, WA.

And a close up.. I really did not like it until it was Quilted & bound..
 Looking forward to more Challenges..
there is a Riley Blake
and
Black to White
in my future.
